Our interpretation of a court
A court by definition is an area that is marked out for games. A “Therapy” Court by our interpretation is where, someone strengthens their capacity to play; whereby resilience, coping, and distress tolerance skills are practiced. More specifically, our court is a safe haven where the staff point the way to better mental health. Dr. Wendy Morua, founder, believes that safety is a primary goal for therapy because it fosters learning and the betterment of a person’s functioning. Additionally, the game played on our court is an accurate metaphor for someone’s life, a life that is comprised of losses, barriers, and opponents but also of meaningful connections, and wins.
